How Baby Birds mature
So, about now, you may be thinking that you do not need to know about this.
After all, you only want to know how to rescue birds. Well, the thing is......
It is NOT always a good idea to rescue a baby bird that
appears to be alone and appears to be 'asking for help'.
If you understand the basics of different types of birds and how they develop, it will help you to decide whether or not it is appropriate to try and rescue.
The first thing to understand are the terms Precocial and Altricial.
Stanford Education Group has a web page that explains this well.
It has been included below for you to work through to learn more.

The PDF document below summarises the development stages and how they can affect baby bird rescue decision. This document is available for download in the resources section at the end of the course.
